چکیده

A positive-tone, aqueous base soluble, polynorbornene (PNB) dielectric formulation has been developed. The photolithographic solubility switching mechanism is based on diazonaphthoquinone (DNQ) inhibition of polynorbornene resin functionalized with pendent hexafluoroisopropanol and carboxylic acid substituents. The optical contrast (at 365 nm) was found to be 2.3. The maximum height-to-width aspect ratio of developed line and space features was 3:2. The sensitivity, D100, of a formulation containing 20 pphr of DNQ photoactive compound (PAC) was calculated to be 408 mJ/cm 2 . The effects of the DNQ molecule structure on miscibility and dissolution of the photosensitive films in aqueous base developer were studied. The effect of the monomer composition of the PNB polymer on the dissolution rate of the formulated PNB resin was evaluated. A unique dissolution and swelling behavior was observed. The effect is attributed to a copolymer synthesized with two monomers each of which is susceptible to deprotonation in aqueous base. FTIR measurements showed that the pure PNBHFI has a small percentage of free hydroxyl groups which did not change appreciably by the addition of DNQ to the mixture. #2 High Performance ZIF/Polyimide Mixed Matrix Membrane for Separation of Propylene and Propane Presenter: Chen Zhang / Advisor: William J. Modelling a Linker Mix‐and‐Match Approach for Controlling the Optical Excitation Gaps and Band Alignment of Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks

Tuning the electronic structure of metal-organic frameworks is the key to extending their functionality to the photocatalytic conversion of absorbed gases. Herein we discuss how the band edge positions in zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) can be tuned by mixing different imidazole-based linkers within the same structure. We present the band alignment for a number of known and hypothetical ...

Mesostructured Imidazolate Frameworks

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are crystalline hybrid framework materials composed of inorganic metal “nodes” bridged by rigid organic linkers, thereby featuring exceptionally high surface areas and porosities. Despite the successful synthesis of a plethora of intricate framework topologies, a major objective in current MOF chemistry is the extension of pore sizes from the micropore (> 2 nm) t...

Selective Solvent-Assisted Linker Exchange (SALE) in a Series of Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks.

Solvent-assisted linker exchange (SALE) has recently emerged as an attractive strategy for the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) that are unobtainable via traditional synthetic pathways. Herein we present the first example of selective SALE in which only the benzimiadazolate-containing linkers in a series of mixed-linker zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF-69, -78, and -76) are repl...

Zeolitic imidazolate framework composite membranes and thin films: synthesis and applications.

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), a subclass of metal organic frameworks, are built of tetrahedral metal ions bridged by imidazolates. They have permanent porosity and relatively high thermal and chemical stability, which make them attractive candidates for many industrial applications. In recent years, significant progress has been made in developing ZIFs into membranes and thin films fo...
